Every student preparing for a high-stakes exam knows the frustration: you review a missed question, read the explanation, and feel like you get it. Then on test day, the same type of reasoning error costs you points — just dressed up in a different passage.
The gap between understanding an explanation and mastering the reasoning skill is enormous. Traditional prep fills that gap with volume — more passages, more questions, more content. But volume without targeting is noise.
FortePrep takes a different approach. Just as a musician isolates a difficult passage and drills it until it becomes effortless, we use AI to diagnose the precise cognitive pattern behind each mistake, then generate novel passages that test that exact skill in new contexts. Repeated, targeted reps on your specific weaknesses — not generic practice sets that may never touch your blind spots.

How FortePrep works
FortePrep mirrors how expert tutors diagnose and remediate reasoning weaknesses — but at a scale no human tutor can match.
Step 01
Question Analysis
When you upload a missed question, FortePrep reads the passage, all answer choices, the correct answer, and your selected answer. It reconstructs the full reasoning context.
Step 02
Cognitive Diagnosis
The system identifies the exam-specific skill category, the specific error archetype, and the cognitive gap — the reasoning pattern that led you to the wrong answer.
Step 03
Gap-Targeted Generation
Using the diagnosis, FortePrep generates 10 original passages with questions that test the exact same reasoning skill in completely different subject contexts.
Step 04
Difficulty Calibration
Each drill passage is calibrated to match the target exam's complexity — realistic passage length, question structure, and distractor quality that mirrors real test conditions.
Step 05
Skill Tracking
As you complete drills, FortePrep tracks your accuracy across every skill category and error type, building a map of your strengths and remaining weaknesses.
Step 06
Adaptive Focus
Over time, the system surfaces your most persistent patterns — the reasoning traps you keep falling into — and prioritizes drills that address them.
